Students win two prizes revamping the Finance 4.0 demonstrator
Last semester, Dr. Marcus Dapp offered a partner challenge to the "Advanced Practical Course - Blockchain technology for public sector innovation" at the external page Technical University of Munich in collaboration with the external page research institute fortiss GmbH. This is the team that gathered around his proposal to work on a core component of the Finance 4.0 platform, a tool for a socio-ecological financial system, that is part of the external page FutureICT 2.0 project at COSS:

The team's work proved very fruitful. They participated in the external page Swiss Blockchain Hackathon and won, among 39 teams, in the category "CVVC Incubation Fasttrack"

They also won the first prize among 6 teams subscribed in the course at TUM/fortiss.

From the team, Benjamin Degenhart is now working at COSS to build on the successful work and also integrate the Bachelor's Thesis of Gabriel Hirschbaeck and the Master's Thesis of Sergiu Soma, who both implemented important components of the Finance 4.0 concept. The team is also involved in co-designing Climate-KIC's new "Deep demonstrators of Long-Termism" project with the aim to build a fully functional demonstrator called FIN4XPLORER by end of 2019. See external page Fin4 website for information about the demonstrator software.
